Africa Needs Larger Than Life Leaders Who Can Make Decisions That Will Inspire Their Nations -Oscar Doe
Philanthropist and businessman, Oscar Yao Doe has pointed out the key factors inhibiting human and social development in Africa. He opined that until when the continent is able to produce proactive leaders who could make decisions that will have long-term impact on their people, Africa will remain far from the greatness it deserves. In a latest social media post, the Doscar Group Chairman wrote..
“Unfortunately, some people don’t realise it’s in our collective interest to pull each other up! Tomorrow is not guaranteed for everyone! Our only guarantee is (being) able to inspire others. If we are able to show authentic appreciation, if we are able to give unconditional love regardless of status, religion, tribe, nationality and political affiliations.
“We have an obligation to be larger than life in our reasoning for our collective good! Leadership is key! Our leaders make decisions based on family and friends’ considerations, or (instructions) from the powers that be, and other interests. So therefore, everything has become a merry go round!
Talking about leaders in Africa he has had interactions with, he said.. “I always tell them in their face that any Tom and Jack can be making such predictable decisions! I always challenge them to make larger than life decisions! Decisions that are time enduring, based on the bigger picture, on the bigger vision, on affection, on the welfare of the people, on shared prosperity!
I challenge them to make master stroke decisions that can spark something special in people, in the community, the nation! Rock solid decisions, open-minded decisions that will still make impact in the next 200 years!
“Anything short of this is business as usual. We need larger than life leaders who understand what it takes to inspire the nation”, he concluded.
