…As Gov Ikpeazu Move to Takeover Africa with Aba Made Products
The visit of two-state Governors, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu of Lagos and Dr Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia on the day the Zenith Bank Plc style fair was summed up saw the Lagos state helmsman disclosing plans to build a $50billion tourism masterpiece that will see the state becoming the center for music, fashion, culture, and tourism in Africa.
The Abia State Governor on his own part revealed that some experts from the state are currently in China to update their knowledge of leather works, production automation, and fashion generally in a bid by the state to turn itself into an export power-house for made in Nigeria exports.
The CEO of Zenith Bank Plc, Mr Ebenezer Onyeagwu who was on hand to welcome the two governors alongside other officials of the bank stated that the fair was a yearly event put in place to support Nigerian businesses and others, saying that the involves all kinds of companies ranging from those in food, fashion, entertainment, communication, etc.
He said the event is part of the banks contributions to better the overall economy of the country, saying that the government can not do it alone. According to him, that is why Zenith is involved in CSR and have on some occasions built roads leading to their offices or built parks, as well as other infrastructural projects just to support governmental efforts.
Ikpeazu claimed that since 2015 when he came to power that he has never worn anything apart from made in Aba shoes, clothing and other accessories, even as he urged other Nigerians to support products and services that are Nigerian made.
The duo thanked Zenith Bank Plc for its great and wonderful efforts being made to support Nigerian Small Medium Enterprises and other categories of businesses. The Abia governor added that in five years time Aba made products would rival the best in the world in quality and standards.
Sanwo-olu heartily expressed his deep-felt thanks to the bank for their contribution to the development of the State and said his administration is ever ready to work with the bank to ensure a better economy for the nation.
The fair ended Sunday with a concert featuring top Nigerian top musical artistes and comedians namely Flavour, Davido, Tekno, Tems, Acapella, DJ Do2tun etc and World acclaimed fashion designers like Tokyo James, Quiteria, David Tlale among others
