* As She Appreciate God and Team for Support in Community Development
Despite the economic challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chairman of the Apapa-Iganmu LCDA, Hon. Mrs. Funmilayo Akande-Mohammed is not relenting on her efforts to support the educational development needs of intelligent students in the council. As she has been during since the inception of her administration, Hon. Akande-Mohammed recently gave 100 GCE forms to deserving students.
At the presentation, the Apapa-Iganmu boss noted that the GCE form distribution is a regular project of her administration, ‘we gave out only 100 this year because of the activities that we have on our hands. We will soon commission our new secretariat, the health centre, and roads in the LCDA. We have always done this to help families who can not provide for their children. We have done this since the inception of our administration.’
I would like to appreciate our teachers on their celebration of World Teachers Day and to tell them to help the students as their children so that they can excel.’
On the many capital projects she has executed since taking the saddle, Mrs. Akande-Mohammed commented: ‘on our coming into office, many said a woman cannot do it but thanks be to God that we have done well even, beyond expectations. I also thank God for the team that I have with me.
She highlighted to Trek Africa Newspaper’s Reporter, some of the projects that will soon be commissioned by the State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the council, she stated that, “Nine Interlocking roads, 3-Storey building Council Secretariat, Health centre among others.
Trek Africa Newspaper spoke with some of the beneficiaries of the examination forms, Miss Emmanuella Duru and Master Isiaka Bashir.
The SS2 boy remarked: ‘I thank Hon. Olufunmilayo Akande-Mohammed for buying us this form. May Almighty Allah continue to help her.’ On her part, Emmanuella, a SS3 school student said ‘I am a beneficiary of this kind gesture. I want to say a big thank you to our Chairman for what she has done for us. I encourage all beneficiaries to put in more effort to their studies to make this exam a success.’
