Educational institute inducts new members, stresses transformational education through ICT Technology

(NAN) The Institute of Educational Leadership Practitioners of Nigeria (IELPN) on Friday inducted into its fold new members, charged them to advance transformational teaching and learning through the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT).
The institute known for infusing ICT into learning to boost enterprise, admitted not less than 30 members; at its 2nd Annual Conference held in Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos reports that, tagged “EduTECH 2022″ has as its theme ” Educational Technology Accessibility and Equity in Teaching and Learning” exposed participants, mostly school administrators, to digital innovations that could drive learning in the nearest future.
It reports that, the people were encouraged to explore the varse potentials in the digital sector to enhance societal fortunes.
In his presentation at the event, the keynote speaker, Prof.Osaretin Ebuehi, said that, teaching trend has transcended hearing to visual.
Ebuehi, who doubles as the Deputy Provost College of Medicine, University of Lagos, commended the efforts of the Lagos State Government on students access to digital learning.
The university Don, described EduTECH as systematic application to the teaching and learning; said that people learn quicker from what they see than what they hear, saying digital teaching and learning through the use of data and its associated devices has made knowledge impacting and assimilation smart and exciting.
According to him accessibility to digital devices and data availability for will dovetail to a transformational human capital development that can stand the taste of time in any strata of human development.
“The time for an improved-all-inclusive teaching methology that will change the mind set of administrators and students was yesterday.
“Efforts should be geared toward improved school curriculum that will ensure that school products meet up with the fast changing trend to remain relevant,” he said..
The President of the institute, Prof. Sunday Osaat in his address at the event said over the years the institute has been committed to excellent performance.
Osaat, foresee a contemporary a society where accessibility, equity in the teaching would constantly disregard the old ways of doing things; said that the institute would continue to undertake essential research on leadership and education in the ICT.
The President, who inducted new members into the institute after at session, tasked the inductees on the use of technology to improve their tasks, and to advance teaching and learning in their various areas.
The human development manager, called for support to the institute, appealed to government for improved data availability to ensure sustainability.
NAN reports that IELP is a new concept for education in Nigeria inclined to excellence in leadership by supporting education practitioners to improve students outcome and, lead change in their spheres. (NAN)
