NSCDC BOSS COMMENDS PERSONNEL’S DISPLAY OF PROFESSIONALISM IN OSUN ELECTION

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi has commended personnel of the Corps for what he described as exemplary display of professionalism during the just concluded Osun Gubernatorial election.

In press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Corps’  Director of Public Relations, DCC Olusola Odumosu stated that, “Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, has applauded personnel of the Corps for what he described as exemplary display of professionalism during the just concluded Osun Gubernatorial election.”

According to the statement, “The CG expressed satisfaction at the level of discipline, gallantry, patriotism, zeal and commitment of staff in ensuring a peaceful and rancour free environment for the people of Osun state to exercise their franchise.”

He attributed the peaceful conduct of the election to careful planning, strategic deployment and professional execution of the operational order of the Corps and above all, effective synergy with all the security agencies resulting in the peaceful and orderly conduct of the election.

He extolled the performance and comportment of his officers and men during the election and charged them to sustain the tempo of professionalism, discipline and integrity showcased in the election.

Dr Audi assured that with the successes recorded in the two elections conducted in Ekiti and Osun States recently, the Corps will not relent but continue to strive to give its best to the nation.

While congratulating the personnel, he also reassured them of his commitment to improve their welfare.

“I congratulate you all for representing the Corps well and for being good ambassadors at the election.”

“Reports at my disposal indicates that non of you was found wanting of political partisanship, compromise, dereliction of duty, molestation, intimidation of voters, abuse of human rights and other forms of electoral offences.”

“I commend your level of professionalism and swift responses to pockets of disturbances during the exercise, this helped to keep all observed and perceived security threats during the election under control.”

“You have done your part and I assure you that, all that is due to you will be given to you once we receive signal from government,” the CG said.

He posited that the success of the recently conducted election will be improved upon and lessons learnt will be processed to achieve a more successful 2023 general election.

“The 2023 general election will be more challenging but we shall begin early preparations by embarking on training, workshops and sensitization of personnel on international best practices during election.”

“We shall review our experience on the field and improve where necessary to be able to continue our deployment of the best strategy for promoting our nascent democracy,” Audi said.

The CG encourage Nigerians in all spheres to support government efforts in ensuring political and economic stability of the nation which will impact positively on security of lives and property.

He said, “the peaceful conduct of Osun election is an indication that we can achieve higher level of success in 2023 general election.”

“Nigerians should support government efforts, eschew violence, criminalities and all forms of nefarious activities challenging our corporate existence.”

“We all have the responsibility of watching over this nation together, let us continue to give credible information to security agencies so we can always be ahead of the criminals.”

Meanwhile, The CG commended the efforts of the DCG Operations, Dauda Mungadi and other lieutenants deployed to the field for the effective coordination of personnel during the election and guaranteeing a peaceful atmosphere which culminated in the success of the election.
