GOVERNOR SANWO-OLU APPOINTS DR. AYODELE OGUNSAN TO LEAD LAGOS SECURITY TRUST FUND (LSSTF) AS EXECUTIVE SECRETARY/CEO

Lagos, Nigeria – October 31, 2025 – In a move aimed at further fortifying the State’s security architecture and enhancing effectiveness, the Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan as the new Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).

The appointment, which is for a five-year term, takes immediate effect from Friday, October 31, 2025, marking the commencement of a new chapter in the fund’s commitment to creating a safer and more secure environment for all Lagosians. Dr. Ogunsan, a renowned administrator and highly respected figure in the business and security advisory space, is expected to bring his wealth of experience and innovative perspectives to the crucial role of mobilising resources for the state’s extensive security operations.

The LSSTF remains a critical pillar of the state’s development agenda, responsible for fostering public-private partnerships to bridge the funding gap required for modern policing and security infrastructure. Dr. Ogunsan’s mandate will focus on scaling up these collaborative efforts, leveraging technology, and ensuring the seamless implementation of the state’s long-term security strategy in line with the Governor’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda.

Governor Sanwo-Olu used the medium to express deep appreciation and gratitude to the erstwhile Executive Secretary, Hon. Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, for his decade of formidable and invaluable contributions to the LSSTF’s establishment, growth, and achievements. His tireless service over the last ten years laid a solid foundation for public trust and effective resource deployment, and the Governor wished him the very best in his future endeavours.
